Although it may not be a very hot topic in Tibia at the moment, it's definitely one players on PVP worlds face every day! If you're reading this, it is very unlikely that you haven't been killed by another player, for whatever reason, at least once in your Tibian life. Maybe you deserved it, maybe you didn't - maybe you yourself have PK'd for fun?! Today we asked players the following question, to see just how many people are fine with player killing for fun in Tibia: "Do you PK for fun; why, or why not?" Here are their answers - please note that we have taken out some of the non-PK answers, and added all of the PK answers, so both sides of the argument can be seen!
Zuranno: I dont pk because i prefer to help people instead killing them.I only killed persons unjustifed two times in my tibian life: Both times was because they were botters and they was troubling other persons.
Aain: Back when there weren't hotkeys, I PKed quite often. It was fun, testing your skills against the players you were killing. There was nothing more fun then running into a player that couldn't uh to save his life (literally) or running in a player that was amazing in PvP. Or running away from a huge group of people trying to take your life away.
Xanelth Drael'Khari: I don't because I know how it feels and it's just not nice, unless the person deserves it :|
Altox: I have randomly PK'd for fun, a loooong time ago, but I don't anymore. If that person hasn't done anything to you, what right do you have to kill them and ruin their playing experience? Most PKs justify their actions by saying things like, "It's just a game!" but that's really no excuse at all. It might be a game, but the people behind the characters are completely real and the time they spend on their characters is real. Don't get me wrong, though, I -LOVE- PVP, and I do like to PK if it is justified. If someone wrongs me or is a botter/PK themselves or what-not, I'm fine about dropping them hehe! But if they've never done anything wrong, then no way, I won't touch them. I also love wars, where you can kill kill kill the other team, because PVP is very fun - you just have to make sure you're not being a jackass while you do it.
Mista Leingod: No, I don't pk for fun. First of all - nothing comes from it. There is not positive emotion, action, or result that comes from it except a feeling of fear for those victims ok such a pk. And furthermore, it has become far too much a part of this game. It is not about pking, especially not for fun. It's just an overall negative thing.
Ambs Morningstar: I only pk when it's really necessary. Self-defense situations only. To me, PKing isn't enjoyable in the least, and not just because the person might have a main. I just don't like it.
Baron Von Spack: Well, to start off with no, I do not kill other players for fun. Even if they may deserve it for some of their recent or past actions. I get no enjoyment from killing others, and I know those that die definitely do not enjoy it.
Wozokona: Yes, I do pk for fun. Why? Everyone knows tibia isnt the best game if you talk about graphics and things like that, BUT, tibia used to be the best rpg online game for PVP, skills used to make all the diference, dont matter what level you are, it was all about aim, skills, but, nowdays its kinda gone, cause a lot of ppl bot ;/ Some guys be nervous when getting killed, some guys like the adrenaline, some guys cry, you never know what gonna happen, its always a surprise, and the loot its like a surprise bag too. I think thats make the pk funnier.
Unforgivable Nark:
I enjoy pking, yes. When I do pk I have fun with it. But I don't really randomly pk because I remember when I was a nub and it really pissed me off when I got randomed :o So I don't do it to other people. My ghey little reason :p
Lido: Yes I PK for fun.. why? because I want some fun... The most memorable memory: I found a noob (level 11) hunting bears, so me and my friend started to attack, right he got to red.. he said "STOP I PAY".. and he threw out 16 gp. So I took gp and finished him off anyway, doesn't that sound fun? And its really not much harm done because it's just a lvl 11. :p So in short, I PK for fun because it's fun.
Yamahation: People who complain about random pk's, say it's unfair, ruins the game etc need a reality check - last time I checked this was a Role Playing Game; people have, and will continue to, randomly role play a "murderer".
Rathus: Yes, what else is there to do thats challenging? (playing VS computers isnt fun) Why, or why not?" I like to belittle people on this game, its fun to seem them squirm begging for mercy when we control their lives!
Wojarade Ziro: In my opinion, like Rathus said, its just more fun to fight humans than to fight NPCs. NPCs wont do silly stuff (like going "I PAY" and throw 16 gps), NPCs wont try to escape and maybe have some skill so that you have to re think your killing strategy, NPCs dont loot different stuff all the time (sometimes players carry some weird stuff or letters that make the kill more fun). When killing an NPC, if you massively own it (say you kill a dragon with 3 friends in 1 second, you all hit 350~ damage at the same time) you'll all be like "wow we rock". Now apply the same for a player, you'll say to eachother "wow we rock" then you get bragging rights to the player, you can even get money from him by "hunting him", not to mention the loot. But what i think people consider the best part of player killing is the adrenaline boost that they get because you never know how people will react, maybe they'll fight back, maybe they'll run, etc.
There were many varied opinions on this subject! It seems that many players enjoy PVP, which results in some of them randomly PKing for fun and some of them not; players who enjoy randomly PKing do it for the adrenaline rush, the challenge and the risk - the long isn't too bad either, it seems! While some seem to realize what they are doing could be considered morally wrong, others look at it another way where "It's just a game" which does not make it morally wrong. If they do not think that what they're doing is morally wrong, does that really make the PK a bad person?

I don't like to PK other players because of making them sad in real life. I would hate to do that, but if it means getting me further in the game, I will do it. But I will say sorry.
I feel as if it is just rather mean to kill noobs, and yes, I would rather die on a 1-20 char than a lvl 50+ character.
