How not to spend 900k!

True story.

In order to save my image I shall not reveal my true name, I'll be using the name of Xdorf instead.

There I was all on my own with a large amount of money, 900k to be specific. How I got them? Thats another story, but worry not, they are 100% legal.

Being a newbie/noob/rookie, which I still am, I had to buy all the best equipment of course! So I began sending the classic message on trade channel:

I BUY THE BEST EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE!

And there we go! I, knowing nothing of prices, was buying all that I ever wanted in my young tibian career. Lucky me! A single guy came and told me that he had everything and that he was selling, perfect. And this is the exact list of items with the prices he gave me:

Magic plate armor (400k) (real price: 250k approximately)
Golden legs (120k) (real price: 80k approximately)
Demon Helmet (100k) (That price was ok for that time)
Mastermind Shield (100k) (Real price: 80k approximately)
Boots of Haste (30k) (That price was perfect)

If we add all that up, I spent a total of 750k for stuff worth 540k. If we add a little more math to that, I lost a nice bag with 210,000 GPs.

But I was incredibly happy, yes I was. I had the best equipment available. For a week or so when I saw a house being auctioned on Thais and it was amazing. So I sold everything I had and called my good friend, which we'll be calling Weird Al Zankovic, in order to protect his identity.

I sold it all for around 500k, didn't really care as it was for a good cause. With three days to go, we were winning the auction, how happy I was. And then, we got it, for 320k if I recall correctly.

We had that house for a long long time, around 80k worth of rents. After buying/selling/getting robbed and all that, I noticed that my bank balance was around the 40k.

So Weird Al Zankovic and I decided that it was time to finally sell the house. After a long search for a buyer, we found someone offering 290k for it. And yes people, we sold it for that.

Notice how from 900k I ended up with nothing new and only 330k on my bank account? What happened to those 570k missing? Who knows... Do I feel bad about it? No I dont! I'm as happy as ever.

I don't regret any of my bad financial decisions, I had fun all the way from 900k to 330k. Oh and if you want to know what I did with the rest of the money, I bought a nice comfortable pair of Soft Boots and I'm using what is left for a good place in Kazordoon along with Weird al Zankovic.

In conclusion, having a lot of money is not fun unless you waste it like a noob.

Yours,
Xdorf
