Along with a new site-look, a new forum and new features we have also improved many technical sides of TibiaRP. Here’s a list of everything new and improved…

  • We have drastically improved the layout and all-around-look of the website. Whilst the old look had a nice homely feel to it, we're sure you'll all appreciate this much new and modern design.
  • Like the site, the forum has also gotten a brand new design and layout. Along with new features, we have also rid ourselves of forum-bots! That's right, the biggest nuisance since snapbacks have now been defeated!
  • Some of you may remember TibiaHumor's Weirdary, a hilarious library of Tibian monster descriptions ... well, TibiaHumor and it's staff have very kindly donated what they had to TibiaRP! After much hard work, we have brought it up-to-date and you can now find it in the Encyclopaedia on our website.
  • A huge “WELCOME BACK!” to the poll and especially the comics. Both were lost from our site for some time, but now they're back and better than ever. We plan to update both regularly, so make sure you check them out!
  • The Submit Content form has been improved, and it is now a much easier process for readers and staff alike to submit their work and have it put up on the site. You simply fill in the form which will then be forwarded to the editorial team. If your submission looks good, it will be approved and put straight onto the website.
  • Twitter, Facebook and Tibia.com live feeds … three nifty new things for TibiaRP! You can visit and follow our Twitter here, but you can also check out our tweets by clicking the ‘TibiaRP on Twitter’ tab above. Our Facebook page can be found here. Finally, our site will be live feeding the news from Tibia.com which can be found on our main page hereor in the ‘Recent Newstickers’ tab which can also be found above.
  • If you haven’t already noticed, we’ve changed our name! We are no longer Tibia RP, now we are TibiaRP; although chances are you already called us TibiaRP anyway.
A huge thanks goes to Emilian Silverhope. Without him, we never would have had this huge update. He worked his ass off these past months to produce what we have today, so thanks a million!

You can read a more personal message from our staff here. Now, without further ado, enjoy the update!

Yours, fully reloaded and ready to roll
TibiaRP

Two new articles

We have added two new articles to our library today. The first was written by our very own Zeth Kena, reporting on a mysterious sea creature sighting off the coast of Liberty Bay. The second article is in fact lyrics to a song, composed by Julien brightside. You can read the report here and the song here; alternatively, you can visit the Library and click on Articles.

Anti-Cheating Measures Reloaded

A couple of days ago, the product managers of Tibia and the managing directors of CipSoft called us community managers to a meeting to announce the latest management decisions concerning our fight against cheating - a topic which has become pretty controversial within the community shortly after the publication of our featured article "Where Will Cheaters Go From Here?" in January 2009. A lot of time has passed since then, but this time has not been wasted.

Until the present day, a huge amount of data about cheaters in Tibia has been collected, analysed, evaluated and reevaluated. Only recently, this whole process has reached a point when sufficient statistical information was accumulated which allowed to draw comprehensive and truly reliable conclusions about the cheating situation, and to plan our next strategic steps. The first steps are taking effect straightaway:

Improved detection

Thanks to the detailed analyses of the past months, the efficiency and power of our automatic detection tool was significantly improved. This enhancement instantly resulted in a remarkable boost of detections: Today, 16,598 Tibia accounts have been excluded from the game for using unofficial software to play during the last couple of weeks.

Permanent final warnings

From now on, there will be permanent punishments for all players who gained permanent advantages through the act of cheating which includes the use of unofficial software to play, account sharing and account trading. As many of you have requested in the past, every single account which is identified for having cheated will now get a permanent final warning that does not vanish any more after 6 months. Also, all accounts which currently have a final warning due to the use of unofficial software to play, account sharing or account trading will not lose this warning either. In case of any further rule violation that would lead to a banishment, accounts with a permanent final warning will be automatically deleted without any prior warning.

These two adjustments of our anti-cheating policy sound the bell for the next round of our fight against cheating. At this point, we would like to thank all of our fair players for your unbelievable amount of patience, your commitment to Tibia and your amazing support during the past months. We owe you a lot.

Play fair everyone!

Create a Message of the Day - Second Round Started!

Due to the great success of our recent player-made message of the day week from November 2009, we decided to start a second round today. Everybody is welcome again to suggest own messages by posting them in the designated thread on the event board.

That is how it works:
Post a short message of the day which you consider to be useful and interesting for other players. Community managers will read through your suggestions and pick the most suitable messages. The selected messages will be displayed as messages of the day within a dedicated week. That week will be announced on the official website.

Please note that we might shorten your suggested messages and correct them if they contain spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. Also, please read the start post of the designated thread carefully in order to learn the general guidelines for your submissions.

Now grab your keyboard, loosen your fingers and create a message of the day by yourself!

Get inspired!
