Recommended books
I was just reading some books, and I would like to recommend, and receive recommendations about them, I have no things to read right now, and the books I want are not in the bookstore (unlucky, Zuranno has not sucursales on my country Tongue).

So recommend!

I would like to let you know the last books I have read.
From Dr. Lair Ribeiro:
-The magic of communication (a translation title of what I'm reading, I guess it should be translated to English too, since who wrote it was living on United States from a long time)
-The success does not come by casualty (another bad translation)

I hope these books could be translated, they are THE BEST books I have read, they changed the way I see my reality, the way I communicate myself and I'm becoming a great person with the people who is around me.

Re: Recommended books
I will show you the chapter I'm reading right now. And, please, bear my long bad translations texts!

Successfully talking with yourself.
The human beings have been using the language as a way to communicate their ideas and feelings for millennia.

The life is like the echo:
if you don't like what you are receiving,
take care of what you are emitting.

The misunderstandings makes you lost money, friends and love. The misunderstandings will make you lost love and friendship with your family or friends. When we can't understand ourselves, we are putting our success on risk, our happiness, our prosperity. Almost everything you don't want to live can be easily avoided with an efficient communication.
Let's begin with the internal communication, or, the communication with yourself. In cases like that, the language we use is very important to get what we really want. However, almost the 95% of the people use to have a negative internal communication. It is truth that we hear more than 100.000 times the word <no>. Our brain is adapted to the negative communications, that's why we use to focus on what we don't want, instead of what we really wish. For example, instead of talking with me saying: <I want to be successful> I say <I do not want to fail>. Instead of saying: <I want to be slim> I say <I do not want to be fat>. The subconscious is very direct, it always take a shortcut. Do the following experiment: before reading the next, raise your right hand. Well, have you raised it yet? On a hypnosis state, you could only raised your hand, and not the hand and the forearm, as you probably did. The unconscious goes direct to the topic. And the topic of a negative sentence is no, so your brain omits the word <no>. For example, if I say. <do not think about the color red!> or <do not think about an apple!> As you can see, it's to late, you have already thought about the color red, and the apple, even a red apple! The same happens when you say <I do not want to fail>, without even realize of it, you do everything to fail.

A way to improve our existence in this planet is learn how to use the language when we talk with ourselves, using the inner voice. What voice? the one who asked : What voice?

Haha, nice book...

Edit- Some others things.

What's the difference between dreams and goals?
If you take a dream and make a time to do it, it will be a goal. Do you remember this book? You once bought it and you putted it with the other books in order to read it "some day". It is dusted, because "some day" is not real in the calendar, is a day that will never come. If you'd say: "I'll finish this book before the next month." you will indeed found time to read it; but when you say that you will read it one day, your subconscious says: "Okay, when some day comes, we will read this book."

Re: Recommended books
Well, I truly appreciate this topic since I am a book enthusiast myself, and let me tell you, we are a dying breed. Anyways, I am reading now after much procrastination "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies" By Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. Well so far the book looks promising and it is quite funny indeed.

RE: Recommended books
Eragon series is good if you're not looking for a hardcore fantasy novel, I find them entertaining, but there are some certain unforgivable issues in the plot lines that rule it out from going into the realm of an epic...

At the moment for my history degree I am reading a book entitled
"Mark Antony's Heroes; How the Third Gallica Legion Saved an Apostle and Created an Emperor"
Not a catchy title, but for anyone interested in learning a bit about Roman history should pick up this book. It's an accurate historical account of the fall of the republic and the Third Gallica Legion (Sort of the SAS of the Roman Military), at the same time as being told in the style of a story. Any information you pick up in that book can be correctly used in an offical essay, but it's rather cleverly written in a way to entertain those that struggle with academic texts.

I always look out the window and wonder why birds stay in the same place, when they can fly anywhere in the world.

Then I ask myself the same question.

LOOOOOL! Smile
iPad is a good idea, but personally I am deceived by it, all you can do with it is to listen to music, watch videos, check your pictures, emails, sites as well as read books...
For me that equals to being limited in your choices. Right now, I am happy with my 13 inches MacBook (vs 9.7 inches for the iPad) which can do sooooooo many things an iPad CAN'T Tongue

Did I convince you that iPad is bad? Okay, then now let's talk books! Smile
A bit of classics, nothing is better than literature Smile
So for those of you who are brave enough I'd suggest:

Alexandre Dumas (Pick any book and believe you won't be deceived)
Jules Verne (Specially: The Begum's Millions, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea)

Something more modern would be:
Digital Fortress by Dan Brawn
City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan (5 books)

One world, one dream, so let's dream about something good.

RE: Recommended books
Iv recently just got into "The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel" series by Michael Scott, very interesting intake on mythology and its relation to the real world in a fun to read fantasy story.

Also another great read is the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series by Douglas Adams is always a fun read, just don't watch the movie tho, it makes the books look horrible.
