...well 'Hello there'!

As the title suggests, this blog entry is simply saying a warm, friendly 'yo' from the team at TibiaRP. Whilst we've been a supported fansite for a good while now, there's a strong chance that many of those reading this blog entry will not have visited the site at all before. Although we've always been a dedicated team, site updates haven't exactly always been 'frequent'. Hopefully the recent changes we have made to the site (and it's forum) are the signs of a new age for TibiaRP.

After a winter of hard work (mostly from our programmer Emilian Silverhope) we're finally ready to reveal our brand-spanking-new website and forum. Although our old website and it's forum were fondly adored by some of TibiaRP's older members, it was definitely not the most 'user friendly' experience (for staff and reader alike!). The changes made today will hopefully push TibiaRP in a positive direction, at least we're predicting that they will.

Gone are submissions by e-mail and slow approval/upload times, the content submission form that can be found here allows all registered members to submit their own articles and media. The content is then approved or rejected by a staff member and uploaded directly to the site. We're hoping that a streamlined submission process along with a redesigned staff back-end will encourage us all to submit articles more frequently.

Gone is the (once again, much loved) Chronicles forum theme. This time it's in with a custom designed forum based on the myBB forum engine. Whilst techno-mumbo-jumbo might not be the most relevant aspect to be discussing on a roleplaying orientated site it is one that's worth a mention. The forum now has a definite feeling of being 'Tibian'. We, the staff, are of the firm opinion that the forum, whilst radically different from the last is a much more pleasant user experience for all. We're looking forward to spending many-an-hour in the future taking part in some fast paced Tibian debate and enjoying some first class literature but most importantly of all we're hoping that our forum will be a great place to relax and have your say on all things Tibian.

One major change that you might notice is the re-introduction of TibiaHumour's old 'Weirdiary', which can be found under the 'Encyclopedia' tab. You'll find all the classic entries along with our own submissions and alterations. The Weirdiary was much loved (as well as missed!) by some of our own staff members, so we're thrilled that we're able to bring it back to a supported fansite.

We've also ensured that no content has been lost from the old site. Whilst we cannot guarantee that it's all visible on the new site just yet, we do still have it all stored. Have no fear, the inventory will be back, and hopefully with your help we'll be able to complete it! We are also aware that some existing members are be a little taken a-back by the drastic changes, hopefully you'll ride this rollercoaster with us and see what effects the changes will bring in the future.

Please also be aware that the site will always be a 'work-in-progress'. Don't be surprised if you spot new features, tweaks or bug fixes here and there over the coming months. Please also bear in mind that we always welcome feedback and suggestions on the forum. Without this feedback we have no opinions but our own about which direction to lead the site in.

Hopefully this day will mark a new age for TibiaRP, one in which we can truthfully state TibiaRP is a site "where roleplayers meet" (more than once a week!).

Yours,

TibiaRP Staff
